April 2025 Principal’s Message

Spring is in full swing, and April is packed with exciting events for our school community. There is much to look forward to this month, from festivals and field trips to special presentations and important academic milestones. Please take a moment to review the key dates and activities happening at our school in the “April at a Glance” section below.

I wanted to thank our many coaches who gave of their time away from their families to share their passion and expertise with our student-athletes. Our wrestling program is continuing to grow and has a huge impact everywhere the team goes - thank you to Drew Walters, Kyle Nixon, Esther Beazer, Jim Seely, Lacey Young, and Brandon Knapp, with Brooklynn Nixon, Cheryl Zumbach, and Lana Caldwell as managers. Our basketball teams from grades 7 to our Senior Varsity programs would not be successful if it weren't for the many community volunteer coaches. A huge thank you to: Senior Girls - Stephanie Michelson, Emma Nelson, and Millay Hunter; Senior Boys - Scott Mazuutinec, Paycen Blackmore, and Mike Selk; Junior Varsity Boys - Aidan Oviatt and Kevin Nelson; Grades 7 and 8 Girls - Shawn Nelson and Cindy Smith; Grade 8 Boys - Sashie Stone and Patti Nelson; Grade 7 Boys - Matt Foss and Shane Raey.

There was no rest for Stephanie Michelson and Millay Hunter as they started practices for badminton the Monday after basketball provincials. Various badminton events are coming up quickly.

If you have not paid your school resource fees, please do so as soon as possible or make arrangements.  We accept cash, debit or e-transfers for all fees. You may use the following email address for all e-transfers:  ssfees@westwind.ab.ca. Thank you!

We hope everyone has a wonderful month filled with learning, fun, and community spirit. If you have any questions regarding any of the events listed above, please contact the school office.
