February Principal’s Message

I hope this message finds you well as we embrace the month of February. It's been an exciting journey so far, and I am thrilled to share some highlights and important updates with you.

Our students continue to shine brightly in various aspects of their academic and extracurricular pursuits. From captivating art projects to impressive achievements in sports and academics, it's heartening to witness the growth and dedication our students demonstrate each day. Let's take a moment to celebrate their successes and encourage them to reach even greater heights.

We are hosting rural wrestling provincials February 22-24.  We are excited to have this opportunity to showcase our amazing athletes and coaches as this sport continues to grow with leaps and bounds.  Come support the athletes Friday afternoon and Saturday.

We have two senior high basketball matches in February when we will celebrate the graduating athletes.  Boys’ varsity SENIOR’S night will be held February 5 with their games scheduled to start at 7:30.  The varsity girls’ SENIOR’S night will be held February 26, scheduled to start at 7:30.  Come support both teams.

Reminders:

  • Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the winter weather.
  • Keep an eye on our website and newsletters for any additional announcements and updates.
  • If you drive please keep an eye on all students since they are unpredictable and with slippery roads, you need to be extra careful.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank those of you who donated games to our school, but we could still use your help.  These math-based math games will help lots of our students. We are still looking for more, click the link, to see what games are still on our wishlist.

If you have not done so, we ask that you please pay your resource fees ASAP or make arrangements at the school office. We accept cash, debit, or e-transfers for all fees. You may use the following email address for all e-transfers:  ssfees@westwind.ab.ca. Thank you!

Hot lunch order forms will be available online at stirlingschool.ca, and/or there will be a few available at the school office.

Parent-Council meeting will be held on February 29th at 12:45 pm in the school staff room.
