October 2022 Principal’s Message
When Central Office maintenance walked into the building today, I knew that the summer heat would soon be a distant memory. As the furnace was turned on to keep all of us a little more comfortable within our classrooms, I was thankful that we were in a building that has air conditioning and heat when we need it; this was not so less than five years ago. We hosted a volleyball tournament in September and we received so many compliments about the cleanliness of our school and how bright and organized everything looked. We have amazing staff and students at the school who go the extra mile to make our school inviting.
Extracurricular activities are in full swing. Our staff volunteer their time to make sure that the events run smoothly. They are not there to babysit your young children, and have been asked to send all children back into the gym. Please keep your little ones with you. Elementary students wanting to come to school events after hours need to be accompanied by their parents/guardians or older responsible siblings. Thank you.
Volunteers are welcome as long as you have the necessary paperwork handed in at the office (Vulnerable Sector Search and Criminal Record History). Both organizations ask you to have a letter from the school to start the process. Please call the office and we will be happy to provide you with what you need.
If you have not done so already, we ask that you please pay your resource fees ASAP or make arrangements at the school office. We accept cash, debit or e-transfers for all fees. You may use the following email address for all e-transfers: ssfees@westwind.ab.ca. Thank you!
Hot lunch order forms will be available online at stirlingschool.ca and/or there will be a few available at the school office. November’s hot lunch order form is due October 26th. The parent council is always looking to have more parents assist with hot lunches; please contact Jessica Seely @ 403-593-9432, if you are interested.
The parent-Council meeting will be held on October 27th at 2:15 in the school staff room.
